Romain Roches' father Marcel Roche owned 30 ha of vineyards in Cairanne. He was until 2005 the president of the co-operative and of course he delivered the grapes there.
The young Romain wanted to have an education so that he could make the wines himself. At first he got a BTS from the wine school in Beaune, then some commercial education and finished with a full oenological education from the university in Toulouse.
As a part of his training he went to USA and Australia. He worked for a period at
Chateau Paradis in Provence and here he met Philippe Cambie who he uses as an advisor
Since 2009  Marcel Roche rented 15 ha to his son, and Romain made his first wine this vintage. The vines have an average age of 50 years. A single parcel is 120 years old.
In 2014 Romain's father wanted to retire, but Romain was not interested to have a domain of more than 25 ha of the vineyards and therefore the rest was sold.
In 2018 20 ha are in production when 5 ha are during replanting.
In 2014-2015 Romain built a new cellar near the house of his parants ready for the harvest of 2015.
