The company was founded in 2004 by two friends, both of whom have worked for major wine companies. François Dauvergne derived from wine merchant's family in Bordeax area an got a commercial education. Jean-François Ranvier has an oenological education and has been head of a laboratory, before he came to work for a major negociant firm.
In 2013 bought Dauvergne Ranvier a domain in Tavel, Domaine des Muretins with 10 ha of vineyards, 6.5 ha of Tavel and 3.8 ha of Lirac. Their first vintage from here was 2013.
According to the company their purchases of wines are made this way. If the buyer and the producer agree an area of vines are pointed out and wines from this vines are bought. The work in this vineyard is then carried out by the producer according to instructions from the the buyer how to treath the vines. The buyer and the producer decide together the harvest time and the subsequent vinification is also agreed. If  barrels are needed they will be delivered from the buyer. Finally the bottling is done by a third part and the buyer then get the finished wines.
