The name Shehelin comes from Fritz
Stehelin, a German/Schwiss buziness man who in 1840
moved to Bedarrides and settled at Chateau Mont
He became the forefather of the winegrowers in Rhone with
the name Stehelin.
Domaine Pallière & Pied-Gu is a relatively big
domain covering 31 ha. 28 ha. of Gigondas, 2 ha.
and 1 ha. of Chateauneuf du Pape.

Two generations are working at the domain, Nicole and Frédéric Stehelin and their daughter and son Caroline
and Bertrand Stehelin. In 2018 Caroline succeded her father as gérant
Since 2004 Bertrand Stehelin has made his own wine from 3 ha.
Gigondas, 1,3 ha. Sablet and 2,5 ha. IGP in Sablet.
Bertrand's wines are made in his father's cellar, and the
two domains will in a way merge although there will be two labels
- from Domaine Bertrand and from Domaine Pallière et Pied-Gu.
Since 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape has Bertrand's name on the label.

80% Grenache 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre. Grenache is from 40-110-years-old
vines. Partly destemming. Blending after fermentation and then ageing in
cement tank or foudres for 15 months.
Chateaueuf du Pape Cuvée Bertrand Stehelin
98% Grenache and 2% Syrah. 60-80-year-old vines. Matured in steel tank.
70% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre. 70-90-years-old vines.
Aged in foudres for 24 months.
Stehelin Gigondas La Syrah de Pénélope
95% Syrah and 5% Grenache. Aged in barriques for 24
Bertrand Stehelin Cotes du Rhone Village Sablet
70% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 5% Mourvedre.
