Since 1981 the firm has had cellars for vinification,
ageing and stocking wines and a broad range of wines from IGP, Luberon and Ventoux are made. You could then think that it was a
co-operative but they do not get their grapes from private producers.
They get wines from the co-operatives in the area and finish the
vinification and maturing in the cellars of Marrenon and market these
wines with the name of Marranon.
A local source has described the firm in this way: "Marrenon
is a trade union of co-operatives but not only that.
They also intervene in the definition of the wines' qualities thanks to
technical specifications, they are stake holders in the whole process of
wine producing."
The
firm's importance for the marketing of the wines from Luberon is quite
significant:
"Marrenon represents:
85 % of the Luberon production
15 % of the Ventoux production
50 % of the Vin de Pays de Vaucluse production."
