Soumade  Frédéric

Domaine la Soumade was established by André Roméro in 1979. Since 1990 the whole production has been bottled at the domain. In 1996 when his son Frédéric Roméro had earned his BEPA Diploma in viticulture and oenology he returned to the domain to join his father.
In 2002 a new cellar was built by Route d'Orange a few hundred metres from the old cellar which today is used by another wine grower Georges Perrot.
The domain covers 27 of which one ha is Gigondas and the rest is situated in Rasteau. 

Wines: 

Gigondas
2015: 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. Aged for 18 months in demi-muids.

Rasteau
2015: 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre. 

Rasteau Prestige
2015: 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre - 30-50-years-old vines. 50% aged in foudres and the rest in cement tank for 18 months.

Rasteau Cuvée Confiance
2015: 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre.
Fermented in wooden tank and aged in foudres for 18 months.

Rasteau Fleur de Confiance
2015: 90% Grenache and 10% Mourvedre. 50-100-years-old vines.
Aged for 18 months in demi-muids. Yield 15-18 hl/ha.

Vin Doux Naturel Red
100% Grenache. 
80% aged for 18 months in cement tank. The rest in demi-muids.

Vin Doux Naturel Doré
100% Grenache. Aged for 24 months in demi-muids.

Cotes du Rhone 
2015: 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah. Young vines.

Cotes du Rhone Anthéa (former Les Violettes)
2015:90% Syrah and 10% Viognier. 50% aged for 18 months in 2-3-years-old barriques.
