The domain was created in 1930 and was acquired by Jean-Claude Garcin in 1994. At that time the domain covered 40 hectares in Tavel and Lirac. Since then a cooperation with the Layonie family resulted in accumulation of some more vineyards from Domaine Saint-Anthelme (20 ha of Cotes du Rhone), Les Ramières (25 ha of Lirac, Cotes du Rhone and VDP) and Longval (10 ha of Lirac, Tavel, Cotes du Rhone and VDP). This led to a company called Domains Garcin – Layouni.

In 2014 domain including the vineyards belonging to the Layonie family were bought by Elisabeth and Christian Latouche, who also owns Domaine de La Vallongue (since 2008) and Domaine des Terres Blanches (since 2012) situated in Eygalières and Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, both domains producing AOP Les Baux de Provence.

Latouche has also bought some vineyards from Domaine du Chateau de l'Hers in Chateauneuf du Pape former owned by Marcel Georges.
In connection to this purchase Latouche in 2016 created a new compagny
La Genestière - Chateauneuf du Pape

Jean Claude Garcin The owner of Chateau la Genestière 1994 - 2014

The surroundings at Domaine la Genestière are subtle, and as it may not be possible to visit the place in the future. Therefore I leave the photos taken during a visit a few years ago at the domain.
The spacefull shop is closed.

Note: The Restaurant near the domaine dosn't have the same owner as the Chateau. It's probably mostly used for bigger parties - salle de mariage
