After studies in biologi and geologi for some years Gérald Lafont fineshed in 2000 an oenologic education at the university in Montpellier. He then worked for a time in a negociant firm in Languedoc responsible for the production before he became independant ønological consultant. Today he works as such for about 30 producers in Rhone and Languedoc.
In Chateauneuf du Pape he works among others for Domaine de Cristia, Domaine de la Biscarelle and Domaine Durieu.

In 2011 he started a negociant firm together with Baptiste Olivier who also works as an independant oenological consultant (among others for Domaine Pierre Usseglio, Domaine Saint Préfert and La Bastide Saint Dominique) a negociant firm Olivier & Lafont based in Saint-Laurent-des-Arbres.

In 2015 Gérald Lafond created Domaine d'Arbousset on the base of two parcels he had inherited from his father Yvon Lafont. One with 50-years-old Grenache and another with 40-yers-old Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre and Cinsault.
Since 2018 the vineyards have been during conversion in to AB and  biodynamic certification

2016: 75% Grenache, 25% Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault.
70% matured in concrete, 30% aged in demi-muids for 18 months.
