Chateau Saint-Maurice
Christophe Valat
The grandfather of Christophe Valat went shortly after
World War I to Algerie and became a wine merchant there. His son André
later jointed him there but in 1960 they went back to France. In the late
Sixties Andre Valat decided to settle down in the area from where the
family had its roots. He then acquired Chateau Saint Maurice. After finishing wine
school his son Christophe joined him in the firm in 1982, and from 1993 he
has been in charge of the property. At that time he acquired a property in
Roquemaure with 12 ha. Lirac and Cotes du Rhone, Chateau Boucarut. The
total area of Chateau Saint Maurice is 120 ha, with the main holdings in
Cotes du Rhone Village Laudun (Chateau Saint Maurice) and Vin du Pays du
