This family certainly has a long history as wine growers. A historic record
from 1422 tells: "Raymondi Saladini de Trihano item uno planterium situun
in Chalveyrono"
The lieu-dit Chaveyron is still in possession of the the family and of
course a wine from there is called "Chaveyron 1422".
Since 2005 the two sisters Marie-Laurence and Elisabeth Saladin have been in
charge at the domain. They are the 21st generation! They have both had an
education making them able to stand up for the challenges in a globalised world
of wine. Marie-Laurence has attended agriculturel school and Elisabeth has a
oekonmick education.
Louis Saladin has retired but is still working at the domain. Annick Saladin
managed for years a restaurant "Le Mazet" in St Marcel d'Ardèce.
The domain covers 17 ha. Cotes du Rhone and
Cotes du Rhone Village.
Since 2010 the wines are certified as agriculture biologique.
This way to cultivate has always been practised by
the father Louis.
Normally the Grenache are not destemmed.
Several cuvées are made for in this way to express
the different terroirs at the domain.
