In 1920 the owner of the place Sophie Simian passed away without
having any descendant and the place was bequeathed to a servant at the place Marcelle
Laudret. She was the grandmother of the owner today Jean-Pierre Serguier. The Serguier
name comes from Yves Serguier from a wine grower family in Chateauneuf du
Pape, who married the daughter of Marcelle Laudret.
Jean Pierre Serguier has been the owner since 1981. Thus he is at least the
third generation of
wine growers and the second generation at Chateau Simian.
Since 2010 the next generation Florian Serguier after finishing the
wine school in Orange has joined his father. He prefers the work in
the vineyards. Since 2010 Pierre Chaupin has been responsible for making the wines in
cooperation with Jean-Pierre and Florian.
Today the estate covers 26 ha. of vineyards: 6 ha of Chateauneuf du Pape,
11 ha of Massif d'Uchaux and Cotes du Rhone and 9 ha Vin du France.
The vineyards are certified agriculture biologique and since
2008 agriculture
biodynamique.
