In the 17th century the domain was in possesion of a mr. Alexandre, who was president at the Parliament of Provence. From him the estate got its name. The wine production at the place does not seem to have been of speciel reputation before Max Aubert acquired the place in 1968. He was one of the founders of the Université du Vin at Château de Suze-la-Rousse. He was followed by his son Rene Aubert who suddenly died in July 2008. Now his widow Céline Aubert is the owner.

The vineyards cover a total area of 149 ha from different appellations, 20 ha of Chateauneuf du Pape (Lieu-dit Terre Ferme), 50 ha of Cairanne, 40 ha of Cotes du Rhone Village, 35 ha of Cotes du Rhone and 4 ha of IGP.
The domain is situated just at the border between Cairanne and Sainte-Cécile-les-Vignes.
