In 1931 an Italian Francis Usseglio left Italy and went to Chateauneuf du Pape in France. Here he got
a job at some winegrowers. After the
war he got his own property - in 1948. He had two sons Pierre and Raymond.
Pierre Usseglio got his father's property and Raymond established another estate
Domaine Raymond Usseglio. Since vintage 2004 it's the 3th generation
Stephane who has been in charge.
The property covers 16 ha of AOC Chateauneuf du Pape of which one is with white varieties and 5 ha of Cotes du Rhone and 3 ha of
IGP.
Since 2015 the vineyards have certified agriculture biologique and
later agriculture biodynamique

Chateauneuf du Pape les Apotres
2016:"The cuvée name, « Les Apôtres » relates to
the different varietals allowed in the appellation Châteauneuf du
Pape, originating from collection parcels of very old vines with
many different varietals within the same parcel (some are
centenaries). Grapes have been hand selected among sandy and
pebbles parcels on specific vines offering exceptional sanitary
state and excellent ripeness. Winemaking : - Manual destemming
“berry by berry” of each grape - Berries have been carefully
transferred into some amphoras - 4 month skin contact in amphora
without any addition of sulfites or use of cold; this allowed a
soft diffusion of tannins and flavor compounds - Skins have been
taken off the amphoras after 4 months and the wines was left in
the amphora 18 more months - Very little so2 at bottling
only"
