AOP Duché d'Uzès 

The appellation was approved by INAO 29th June 2012 and officially announced on 20th July 2013
EU Commission finally approved the appellation 19th November 2013.
The new appellation is an upgrading from IGP classified vinyards - IGP Coteaux du Pont du Gard. A few communes included in this appellation are not included in the new appellation.
AOP Duché d’Uzès can be made from approved parcels in 77 communes in Gard:

Aigaliers, Aigremont, Arpaillargues-et-Aureillac, Aubussargues, Bagard, Baron, Bastide-d'Engras, Blauzac, Bourdic, Bragassargues, Brignon, Bruguière, Calmette, Canaules-et-Argentières, Capelle-et-Masmolène, Cardet, Cassagnoles, Castelnau-Valence, Collorgues,Cruviers-Lascours, Dions,   Durfort-et-Saint-Martin-de-Sossenac, Flaux, Foissac, Fons,  Fontarèches, Gajan, Garrigues-Sainte-Eulalie, Goudargues, Lédignan, Lézan, Logrian-Florian, Martignargues, Maruéjols-lès-Gardon, Massanes, Massillargues-Attuech, Monoblet, Montaren-et-Saint-Médiers, Moussac, Ners, Puechredon, Ribaute-les-Tavernes, Rouvière, Sainte-Anastasie, Saint-André-de-Roquepertuis, Saint-Bauzély, Saint-Bénézet, Saint-Césaire-de-Gauzignan, Saint-Chaptes, Saint-Christol-lès-Alès, Saint-Dézéry,Saint-Félix-de-Pallières, Saint-Hippolyte-de-Montaigu, Saint-Jean-de-Ceyrargues, Saint-Jean-de-Crieulon, Saint-Jean-de-Serres, Saint-Jean-du-Pin, Saint-Laurent-la-Vernède, Saint-Maurice-de-Cazevieille, Saint-Maximin, Saint-Nazaire-des-Gardies, Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie, Saint-Siffret, Saint-Théodorit, Saint-Victor-des-Oules, Sanilhac-Sagriès, Sauve, Savignargues, Serviers-et-Labaume, Seynes, Tornac, Uzès, Vallabrix, Verfeuil, Vézénobres.

The appellation includes red, rosé and white wines.

Allowed grape varieties
Red and Rosé wines:
Primary varieties (Cépages principaux): Grenache and Syrah.
Other allowed varieties (Cépages accessoires):
Carignan, Cinsault and Mourvedre.
White wines
Primary varieties ( Cépages principaux): Grenache Blanc and Viognier.
Secundary varieties (Cépages secondaires): Marsanne, Roussanne and Vermentino.
Other allowed varieties
: (Cépages accessoires) Clairette and Ugni Blanc.

Demand concerning the share of varietes in plantings at a property
Red Wines
Syrah must count for at least 40%. Grenache for at least 20%.
Rosé wines
Grenache must count for at least 50%. Syrah for at least 20%.
White wines
Viognier must count for at least 40%. Grenache Blanc for at least 30%.
Marsanne, Roussanne and Vermentino must count for at least 20%.

Red and Rosé wines:
A single variety wine is not allowed

The vinification:
Rosé wines:
Press direct must be used. 

Yield
Red wine:
Max 48 hl./ha.
Rosé wine and white wine: Max. 55 hl./ha.

Estimated number of producers and production
In connextion with the approval of the appellation INAO  the the production in the appellation would count for 9.000 hl vinified by 11 cooperatives and 32 private producers and that red wines would count for 60%, rosé wine for 25% and white wines for 15%.
