The domain was founded by Abel Chastan in 1880.
Up to a few years ago, the domain has been run by 3rd generation, Claude Chastan. His son, Cyril Chastan, has been responsible for wine making since his return to the domain in 2005 after finishing wine training. In 2011 he assumed sole responsibility for the domain.
The domain covers 14 ha. of Chateauneuf du Pape and 4 ha. of Cotes du Rhone Village. The vines have an average age of 55 years.
The vineyards have since 2012 been certified agriculture biologique.

Wines.

Chateauneuf du Pape
2017: 60% Grenache, 15% Syrah, 15% Mourvedre og 5% Cinsault.
65% aged in foudres for 12 months and rest in cement tank.

Chateauneuf du Pape Terre d'Abel 
2016: 30% Grenache, 55% Mourvedre and 15% Syrah. 
The vines were planted by Cyril's grandfather Abel Chastan 80 years ago. 
Aged barriques (400 l.) for 12 months

Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc Curiosité
2018: 35% Grenache Blanc 30% Clairette, 15% Roussanne, 15% Bourboulenc and 5% Picpoul/Picardin. 20% fermented and aged for 3 months in barriques.

Cotes du Rhone Village Convivialité
2017: 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah.
