In the 17th century the domain was in possesion of a mr.
Alexandre, who was president at the Parliament of Provence. From him the estate
got its name. The wine production at the place does not seem to have been of
speciel reputation before Max Aubert acquired the place in 1968. He
was one of the founders of the Université du Vin
at Château de Suze-la-Rousse. He was followed by his son Rene Aubert who
suddenly died in July 2008. Now his widow Céline Aubert is
the owner.
The vineyards cover a total area of
149 ha from different appellations, 20 ha of Chateauneuf du Pape (Lieu-dit Terre Ferme),
50 ha of Cairanne, 40 ha of Cotes du Rhone Village, 35 ha of Cotes du Rhone
and 4 ha of IGP.
The domain is situated just at the border between Cairanne and
Sainte-Cécile-les-Vignes.
