In 1931 an Italian Francis Usseglio left Italy and went to Chateauneuf du Pape. Here he got
job at some winegrowers. After the
war he got his own property - in 1948. He had two sons Pierre and Raymond.
Pierre Usseglio got his father's property and Raymond established another estate.
Today the 3. generation is in charge. The sons of Pierre Usseglio, Jean-Pierre
and Thierry run Domaine Pierre Usseglio - and two sons of Jean Pierre do some of
the "the hard work".
The domain covers 25 ha Chateauneuf du Pape, 6 ha. Cotes du Rhone and 0,5
ha IGP. In 2010 6 ha in Lirac was purchased.
The place at Route d'Orange is a sale-
and showroom, and here the ageing takes place.
The vinification is done at the "original" place of the domain
by Route de Sorgues. I have to link

Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée Traditionelle
2016: 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 5% Cinsault and 5% Mourvèdre.
35-60-years-old vines. Ageing in cement tanks or barrels for 12 months.
Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc (1.5 ha.)
2017: 60% Clairette, 35% Grenache Blanc and 5% Bourboulenc.
50% fermented and aged in 0-1-year-old barriques.
Chateauneuf du Pape Cuvée de mon Aïeul
2016: 100% Grenache. 75-90-years-old vines. No de-stemming.
30-40 days
of maceration. Aged in cement tank.
Chateauneuf du Pape Réserve des Deux Frères
2016: 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. 50% aged in 1-3-years-old barriques,
25% in demi-muids and the rest in cement tank.
