Records from 1376 mention Vinea
culta on a lieu-dit in
Gigondas called Bosquets. The
oldest documented building at the domain's
current location dates back to 1644
when a feudal lord Jean de Rivière,
Seigneur de Laval, built a
bâtisse on site. A renovated
tower from this period is situated near
the domain. In the latter half of the
1800s the property was for a period owned
by Eugène Raspail, who built
Chateau Raspail in Gigondas.
Domaine des Bosquets was bought in 1962 by the legendary Gabriel Meffre. It's his
grandson Julien Brechet, who runs the domain today. The estate covers 26 ha of Gigondas.
The number of different cuvées have escaleted in resent years -
representing the different terroirs of the vineyards. (Maybe inspired by
his big brother Laurent Brechet at Chateau de
Vaudieu)
