The domain was founded by Philippe Cartoux in 1989. The vineyards had then been owned by his family since 1879.
Today the domain covers 9,5 ha: 3 ha of Gigondas 2,5 ha of Sablet and 4 ha of Cotes du Rhone.
The vineyards are since 2014 certified agriculture biologique.

Philippe Cartoux is married to the owner of Domaine de Montvac, Cécile Dusserre. At her domain he is responsible for the work in the vineyards
As Philippe Cartoux with his 9,5 ha is situated about 200m from his wife's cellar it's reasonable that his wines are made in a seperate part of her quite big cellars.

Gigondas Les Grames
2017: 65% Grenache and 35% Syrah. Syrah aged in barriques for 6 months.

Gigondas des Blanches
2015: 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. Aged in barriques for 10 months.

Cotes du Rhone Village Sablet 9mg
2017: 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah.

Cotes du Rhone
2017: 70% Grenache, 20% Mourvedre and 10% Syrah. 

Cotes du Rhone Rosé
70% Grenache and 30% Mourvedre. 

Some years ago during a visit to Montvac, this section of the basement was designated "belonging" to Philippe Cartoux ..
A married couple who owns their own domains must keep their interests strictly separate. They may not sell each other's wines or bring them to "salons"
