In 2002 Julien Mazaloubaud inherited 6 ha of Gigondas situated at a steep part of the appellation near Dentelles de Montmirail. He choosed the name Léopold as his grandfather was a masterchéf and dreamed about making wines for good restaurants and hounour his grandfather this way.

The blend in the vineyards are not quite like the normal in Gigondas. 60% Grenache and 40% Syrah. His goul is to make a modern and freash edtion of Gigondas. 
He makes only one cuvée.
