Domaine le Péage has belonged to the Chauvet family for more than a century The domain started bottling the domain as one of the first in Gigondas in 1945.
Domaine la Bouscatière and Domaine la Pèage have for one generation been mentioned in context, because heirs of the two families Christian Saurel and Sabine Chauvet (Saurel) married each other. Both families have a hundred-year history in the possession of the two families. Saurel-Chauvet Vignerons were formed. They continued to make wines under both domain names.
Christian and Sabine Saurel have two children, Laurent and Pauline. In 2016, Saurel-Chauvet became two separate companies SCEA Saurel Pauline (Domaine la Buscatière) and EARL Domaine le Pèage. (Laurent Chauvet-Saurel)

The domain covers 17 ha of Gigondas.
