and Archimbaud have grown vines in the Vacqueyras area for 3 centuries. In
1936 the owner was Gabriel
Archimbaud. He participated in the process of the creation of the Cotes du
Rhone appellation and he named his own domain Clos des
Cazaux. His granddaughter married Maurice Vache, her two sons Jean-Michel
and Frédéric Vache run the domain today and is 5th generation of pure vignerons.
1990 after having finished commercial studies (BTS) in Montpellier
and oenological studies in Bordeaux Jean-Michel returned to the domain
joining his father. 10 years later Frédéric had finished his oenological
studies in Dijon and joined his brother after two years of winemaking
experiences in South Africa.
The total area of the property is 48 ha. 20 ha of Vacqueyras, 24 ha
and 4 ha of Cotes du Rhone.
