Before the property became an estate with vines it was a glass factory  - verrerie.
In 1981 the place was bougt by a business man (shoes and clothes) Jean-Louis Descours, who financed  construction of cellars. In 1985 the vintage was made and bottled at the domain. In 2012 it's the third generation of the family Christopher Descours who runs the family company.

Chateau la Verrerie covers 52 ha of vineyards, certified agriculture biologique since 2013.
