The buildings of Mas des Tourelles date back the 17th
century.
The owner Hervé Durand is the third generation of the family at the domain.
In 2000 when Hervé's son Guilhem Durand had finished his oenological education
he has taken over the responsability for the winemaking
The domain covers around 90 ha.of which 40 ha is Costières de Nimes
and the rest is situated in IGP area (Mas de Forton)

Archaeological excavations
at the place have shown that wines were made at the place in Roman time and that
amphoras were fabricated - at least 4 big owens for burning of the amphoras have
been located.
With great enthusiasm Hervé Durand
has made an exhibition of the archaeological findings and
have reconstructed things used by the Romans to make wine f.i. a big wine press:
You can discover a reconstruction of a Roman cellar.
At the domain is even made wines following the same
principles as done by the Romans
