Until 1998 when Diane de Puymorin
bought the domain it was called Domaine de la Petite Cassagne. At the
American market you can still see some of the wines with that name.
Diane's second name and heraldic sign at the labels indicate that she
might be a descendant form a noble family and so she is. The label for
Cuvée la Noblesa shows the weapon of the family. Translated into wine
words the golden stribes "d'Or" symbolize power and
richness generated by the sun when the red stribes and the proçencal
word Gueules means something like an open
mouth ready to taste.
Diane has a relaxed attitude to the
noblessity. She tells that the first man in the family who had to work was
her father. It was not a family fortune that made her able to buy the
domain, it was people in a banc who trusted her.
The domain is covering 50 ha. of vineyards since 2014 certified agriculture biologique.
