An ancestor of Pierre Jauffret started as a winegrower in Rochefort du Gard in 1856. Therefore a logo with the year is to be seen at the labels for the Cotes du Rhone wines. The name Terre Forte was chosen when Pierre Jauffret returned to the domain in 2000 after finishing his education and a stay in Napa Valley.
The 22 ha belonging to the domain are certified agriculture biologique since 2011. And later biodynamique.
