The name Gros-Pata comes from a lieux-dit, but has a special historic relation.
Pata is the Provençal name of a copper coin. Where the domain is situated  centuries ago travellers had to pay Octroi de Vaison, a duty to enter the area of Vaison-la- Romaine.
Sabine Garagnon is the fourth generation at the domain. Her parents Geneviève and Gérald are still active. It was Sabrine's forfather who in 1878 built the first cellars at the place.
Sabine Garagnon has got a degrée in winemaking Diplômes de Viticuture et Oenologie, and is well qualified to carry on the traditions.
The vineyards are certified agriculture biologique since 2012.
