This domain was established in
2008 and the following year
Carole and Pierre bought
a mas from 18th century at
2527 Chemin Blanc, 2 km. south of Orange.
The 200-years-old mansion was
restored and was ready as a new home for the Perveyrie
family in 2010. In 2014 a new cellar was built ready
for the vinification of vintage 2014.
Carole has experience from several years of
administrative work at a domain in Chateauneuf du Pape, and Pierre has
been a winemaker at some domains in the area.
They have the right to a historic name of Chateauneuf
du Pape, as Clos Saint Pierre was founded in 1926 by a
famous wine grower in Chateauneuf du Pape at that time.
Carole
and Pierre own 10 ha of vineyards : 4 ha of Syrah (25 years old) at
the north of the appellation, 4 ha of Grenache (50-60 years old ) on
the plateau (122 metres of altitude) in the middle of the appellation, 1.5
ha of Mourvedre (50-60 years old) and 0.5 ha of 13 variety of
grapes collection at the south of the appellation.
Since 2012 the vineyards are certified agriculture biologique.
The couple has bought an old but well restored
house at 3, Rue
Pont Neuf in Chateauneuf du Pape, which might be known by tourists who
used to stay at Bed & Breakfast. It's called La Muscardine
and has been rented for tourists for many, many years by the
former owner. Carole will continue this tradition.
In the garden of this house you find one of these old cellars you
can find at some places in the oldest part of the village. Here
the wines from Clos Saint Pierre are aged in barrels after
the vinification at the domain at Chemin Blanc
