This salon du vin takes place every second year. That's in years where Decouvertes du Vallée du Rhône doesn't take place. By this event open for professionals the winegrowers are invited to present their new vintage - this year 2012. At some fairs each producer has a table, where he presents his wines. By this event the presented wines from 2012 are placed on a long table (photo to the right) and you can just pick up a bottle and taste any wine you want.
If you want to have a talk with a producer you can meet most of them.
At a second table (photo at the bottom of this side) the producers present wines which are actually for sale just now. It might this year be 2011, 2010 or even older vintages.

Below I have allowed myself to give the wines my personal opinion by giving points like the professoinels do. Please remember that I'm not a professional
Therefore remember that it's only my personal opinion.
I tasted all wines from 2012 but only some of the other wines.

About the new vintages 2012 I can tell, that it's more closed than 2011. and that the capability for ageing are several years longer than 2011.
In fact most of the wines from 2011 are quite open now, and even if 2011 might not be a big vintage many wines are a pleasure to drink from now on.
